Energy Co. Fights Injunction On Drilling Permit

Law360, New York (September 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Savoy Energy LP has asked for permission to intervene in a court battle between the federal government and environmentalists in order to appeal an injunction on a drilling permit.

If it is allowed to join the litigation, the Michigan-based company plans to appeal the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan's ruling that the U.S. Forest Service acted arbitrarily and capriciously when it approved Savoy's permit to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
