Philips Sues Siemens Over Patent For CT Scan Table

Law360, New York (September 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medical technology maker Philips Medical Systems Inc. has sued Siemens Medical Solutions USA Inc. for alleged infringement of a patent for a diagnostic imaging device table that allows a patient to be transferred between two types of body scanners.

Philips, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV, lodged the lawsuit against its competitor on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
