Beer Drinkers Sue To Stop InBev-Anheuser Merger

Law360, New York (September 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ten Missouri beer drinkers have filed an antitrust lawsuit seeking to stop InBev's $52 billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch & Co. Inc., claiming the merger would bring higher prices and fewer choices for consumers.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, the plaintiffs asked the court to declare that the proposed merger violates antitrust laws under the Clayton Act by lessening competition in the United States beer market.
