CFTC Report Recommends Tighter Limits For Traders

Law360, New York (September 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Thursday that it couldn't be sure how much speculative trading took place in the first half of 2008 as oil prices skyrocketed but reported that the rise in net notational value of crude oil futures appears to have been caused by the increasing value of current investments rather than by an influx of money into the commodity index trading.
