Guilty Plea Entered In U.S. Foodservice/Ahold Scandal

Law360, New York (June 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In further fallout from the accounting fraud scandal that nearly bankrupted Dutch retail giant Royal Ahold NV in 2003, a 39-year-old Rhode Island man has pled guilty to six counts of insider-trading and one count of conspiring to falsify records.

Brady Michael Schofield entered his plea Wednesday in a federal court in Manhattan. He will be sentenced on Sept. 13. He faces a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison - ten years for each insider-trading count - and five years for the conspiracy charge....
