US, Foss Maritime Settle Over Puget Oil Spill

Law360, New York (September 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. government settled an environmental lawsuit on Thursday with tank barge owner Foss Maritime Co. in connection with the December 2003 discharge of oil into the Puget Sound and onto adjoining shorelines.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington by the U.S., the state of Washington and the Suquamish Tribe.
