House Passes ADA Amendments Act

Law360, New York (September 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill Wednesday that would broaden the definition of disabled under the Americans With Disabilities Act to protect many more employees from discrimination in the workplace.

If approved by President Bush, the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 will allow more people to ask for accommodations at work even when the medication they take or the device they use, such as a hearing aid, make them fully capable of doing their job.
