Nvidia Nears Settlement Of Options Backdating Suits

Law360, New York (September 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Graphics-chip maker Nvidia Corp. is close to reaching a settlement with shareholders to resolve a score of derivative lawsuits launched in the wake of an investigation by regulators into stock options backdating by company executives.

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nvidia said in a filing Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it had entered into memoranda of understanding to settle the suits, which accused officers and directors of manipulating the grant dates of executive stock options.
