Senate Passes Renewable Energy Tax Credit

Law360, New York (September 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate has passed the Baucus-Grassley amendment to the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008, which would provide tax credits for renewable energy, and the White House has urged the House of Representatives to pass the bill.

The amendment passed the Senate 93-2 on Tuesday, generating a vote and discussion even as the turmoil of the financial markets has occupied lawmakers' time.

The amended version of HR6049 will now be sent to the House of Representatives for a vote.
