Associates Eye Lower Bonuses Amid Turmoil

Law360, New York (September 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As America's economic malaise catches up with many of the nation's leading law firms, associate bonuses — typically paid in December or January — will suffer, legal industry insiders say.

Although the Wall Street crisis has only reached its crescendo in recent days, troubles affecting law firms have been building over a longer period of time, said Ward Bower, a principal at legal consulting firm Altman Weil Inc.
