Samsung Settles Suit Over Faulty Camcorders

Law360, New York (September 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics America Inc. has agreed to settle a proposed class action brought by a customer who alleged the manufacturer knowingly sold flawed camcorders, forcing those who bought the devices to pay $150 or more to fix them.

In a stipulated order signed Sept. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Judge Paul D. Borman approved the settlement between the two parties and dismissed the suit with prejudice.

Samsung did not admit any liability or wrongdoing by agreeing to the settlement,...
