More Countries Take Aim At Apple’s iPod

Law360, New York (June 16, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Feeling the heat on all fronts, Apple Computer Inc. is being targeted by more European and Asian countries to break open its iTunes monopoly so songs purchased for its popular iPod digital music player can be played on any portable music player.

A number of consumer agencies in Scandinavia and the United Kingdom and a Singapore-based company have jumped onboard to fight the company in recent weeks. Apple is already embroiled in conflict with France and under scrutiny by the European Union.
