DOJ Names Prosecutor To Investigate AG Firings

Law360, New York (September 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following the release of a new U.S. Department of Justice report that calls the removal of nine U.S. attorneys in 2006 “fundamentally flawed,” the DOJ has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate possible criminal offenses stemming from the scandal.

U.S. Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey announced on Monday that Acting U.S. Attorney Nora R. Dannehy would lead the next phase of the investigation.
