BMW, Hyundai & Kia Hit With Airbag Suit

Law360, New York (June 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Delaware company has sued the U.S. subsidiaries of auto makers BMW, Hyundai and Kia, claiming that the defendants’ cars infringe on 11 of its patents related to air bag technology.

The patents asserted by Automotive Technologies International Inc. against Hyundai Motor America, BMW of North America LLC and KIA Motors America Inc. deal with air bag suppression and deployment, as well as sensors that detect occupants and car seats.
