Perma-Fix, EPA Settle Over Superfund Waste

Law360, New York (September 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A waste treatment facility in Washington has agreed to pay a $304,500 fine to settle charges from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that it failed to properly manage hazardous waste.

The EPA announced on Monday that in an agreement reached last week, Perma-Fix Northwest Richland Inc. did not admit any liability, and has already fixed the violations that were identified during a March 2007 inspection of the Richland, Wash., facility.
