Legal Spending Slows Among Global Cos.: Report

Law360, New York (September 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Global corporations are cautiously putting the brakes on their legal staffing and spending, according to an annual survey by legal consultant Hildebrandt International.

The survey, which included 223 companies from a range of industries, found that big legal spenders aren't increasing their legal budgets as rapidly as they have in previous years.

Total legal spending increased at a rate of 5 percent in the United States, down from rates of 6 to 7 percent reported in the past four years.
