'Big Dig' Tunnel Victim's Family To Receive $28M

Law360, New York (October 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Surviving family members of a motorist killed by a falling ceiling panel in Boston's “Big Dig” tunnel collapse in July 2006 have settled a wrongful death lawsuit for more than $28 million.

The settlement, announced Tuesday by lawyers for the husband and three adult children of 39-year-old Milena Del Valle, a Costa Rican woman who lived in Boston, resolves claims against all 15 defendants named in the case, the Associated Press reported.
