HP Takes Issue With Ink Sold By Walgreen, OfficeMax

Law360, New York (June 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. Wednesday accused Walgreen and OfficeMax stores of selling printer ink that infringes its patents as the company continued to crack down on counterfeits using a method to detect competitors’ ink.

HP is working with the drugstore chain and the office product retailer to resolve the dispute. Both companies are cooperating, the computer maker added, and are negotiating a resolution.
