Supreme Court Nixes FedEx Challenge To Damages

Law360 (October 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court will not take up an Americans with Disabilities Act case in which Federal Express Corp. accused a federal appeals court of awarding punitive damages without a proper finding that FedEx had acted with malice or reckless indifference.

FedEx was seeking to overturn a jury verdict ordering it to pay $100,000 in punitive damages to a deaf package handler who sued the company for failing to provide him with a sign language interpreter.
