Judge Bends But Doesn't Break Knee Case

Law360, New York (October 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As suits pile up against Stryker Corp., a federal judge has upheld a product liability claim but dismissed other allegations from a complaint brought against the company and a slew of others over a faulty prosthetic knee.

On Tuesday, Judge Patrick Duggan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division, granted partial summary judgment to one defendant in the suit, Howmedica Osteonics Corp., dismissing allegations of violating the Michigan Consumer Protection Act but keeping the product liability claim on the books....
