EPA Forced To Hand Over More On Asarco FOIA Bid

Law360, New York (October 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been ordered to provide additional information relating to a Freedom of Information Act request brought by Asarco Inc. that could affect a $187.5 million settlement in a Superfund case.

On Thursday, U.S. Magistrate Judge John Facciola ruled that the EPA did not properly address the mining company's earlier FOIA request, asking the official to provide more information in the next two weeks.
