Impotence Drug Price-Fixing Investigated

Law360 (June 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Swiss competition administration has begun an investigation into three major drug producers that authorities believe may be fixing prices for impotence drugs.

The authority, WEKO, said that it is looking into Pfizer Inc., Bayer AG and Eli Lilly & Co., saying they charge nearly identical prices for impotence drugs Viagra, Levitra and Cialis.

The organization said it is also worried about over-the-counter drugs being sold at similar prices.
