Davis Polk 1st BigLaw Mover To High-Deductible Health Plan

Law360, New York (November 9, 2015, 11:17 PM EST) -- Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP on Monday became the first major U.S. firm to adopt a high-deductible employee health plan, according to the firm and a consultant involved in the planning, following a national trend towards plans that require a bigger upfront cost to employees in exchange for a tax-free contribution to a health savings account.

The Davis Polk plan, which will be the sole plan available to all 1,265 Davis Polk employees in the U.S. next year, will hold paycheck contributions steady compared to the firm’s current open access plan for employees making between $60,000 and $200,000.
