Akamai Ready For Battle Over Patents

Law360 (June 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Akamai Technology Inc. have filed a lawsuit against rival Limelight Networks, alleging the company has infringed technology patents.

The lawsuit, filed last week in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, claims Limelight is willfully and deliberately using patented technology for a network that allows a content provider to replicate its most popular content at an unlimited number of points throughout the world.
