Diomed Sues AngioDynamics Over Laser Treatments

Law360, New York (January 7, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Diomed filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts against rival AngioDynamics for alleged infringement of its patent for endovascular laser treatments of varicose veins.

Diomed said it acquired exclusive rights to the patent from the five inventors of the procedure in September 2003. The system has been used in more than 10,000 procedures since the FDA cleared it in January 2002.
