Less Than 2% Of Partners Are Minority Women: Study

Law360 (October 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Minority women in U.S. law firms continue to be dramatically underrepresented at the partnership level — accounting for just 1.88 percent of partners — even though the percentage of women and minorities at law firms continues to increase, according to the National Association for Law Placement Inc.

“It is clear that the overlap of race and gender is significant, and presents unique hurdles for minority women in the industry,” NALP Executive Director James Leipold said in a prepared statement.
