President Bush Signs Off On Mercury Export Ban

Law360, New York (October 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- President Bush has signed a law that will ban the export of elemental mercury from the U.S., a measure that received near unanimous support in Congress last month.

The “Mercury Export Ban Act of 2008,” which the president signed on Tuesday, also requires the Department of Energy to create and manage a facility for disposing of elemental mercury.
