Employers Bob And Weave As Unions Look For Target

Law360, New York (October 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With union membership at an all-time low, organized labor is determined to recruit new members to its cause, but the methods used to beef up the ranks are being called into question as some employers punch back.

The so-called corporate campaigns launched by the unions in recent years have proved to be successful, with employers cowed by the all-out public relations assault that often includes giant billboard ads and newspaper ads chiding customers or other businesses that work with the offending place.
