CFTC Proposes New Automated Trading Rules

By Ed Beeson (November 24, 2015, 1:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Tuesday unveiled plans to regulate automated trading on the futures markets, proposing new controls and registration requirements that it says should curb the risks that computerized trading poses to the financial system.

The CFTC's plans mark its most significant attempt to address the rise of high-frequency and computerized trading strategies and the various market disruptions in recent years.
