Katten Cuts 21 Lawyers As Layoffs List Lengthens

Law360, New York (October 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP has become the latest in a growing number of high-profile firms to lay off lawyers as the crisis in the financial sector and broader economy takes its toll.

Katten confirmed on Thursday that it has laid off 21 of its 650 attorneys. The laid-off attorneys were below the partner level and worked in multiple locations, the firm told the Chicago Tribune. But it declined to say whether any support staff positions were affected, according to the newspaper.
