Sony Faces Patent Suit Over TV-Internet Link

Law360, New York (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Sony Electronics Inc. has been hit with a patent infringement suit by Trans Video Electronics Ltd. over a device that links online videos and other data to compatible television sets.

Trans Video filed the suit on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, asserting that Sony products — including the Bravia Video Internet Link — infringe its patent entitled “global digital video news distribution system.”
