Gas Grids May Be Anti-Competitive: Germany

Law360, New York (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Germany's Bundesnetzagentur, the federal agency that regulates networks, has notified seven companies that operate natural gas transmission grids that their operations are not subject to adequate competition.

The agency announced Tuesday that it had reached an agreement with the German Federal Cartel Office that the companies will be regulated in the future, and asked all seven to provide information about their costs within the next two months.
