Olympus Technicians Launch Overtime Class Action

Law360 (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A cadre of current and former employees of Olympus America Inc. has fired off a class action claiming the camera titan systematically denied its field service engineers overtime pay, in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The suit, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, alleges that for decades Olympus improperly classified its field service engineers as executives, exempting them from the overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.
