Hyundai To Recall 150,000 Cars Over Faulty Airbags

Law360 (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hyundai Motor Co. has issued two separate recalls for more than 150,000 Elantra vehicles, following a U.S. government inspection that yielded several potential defects relating to the cars' airbag warning-light system.

Hyundai informed the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it would voluntarily recall its model year 2001 and 2002 Elantras and require car dealers to install new safety features to prevent potential airbag mishaps, according to letters filed with the NHTSA on Oct. 15.
