$18.3M Fee Fund Gets Green Light In Medtronic MDL

Law360 (October 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The magistrate judge serving as special master in the multidistrict litigation against Medtronic Inc. over implantable defibrillators has entered a report and recommendation in support of awarding $18.25 million in common benefit fees to plaintiffs' counsel.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur J. Boylan signed off Monday on the report, which calls for the approval of an $18.25 million fund for attorneys who did work for the “common benefit of claimants in this litigation.” The report and recommendation also calls for a charitable contribution of $1 million, which...
