Kroes: New Antitrust Fines Against Microsoft Imminent

Law360, New York (July 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Add European Union Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes to the chorus of voices calling a new fine for Microsoft imminent: Kroes told reporters in Berlin that another fine is a virtual certainty, published reports say.

Reuters quoted Kroes as saying that she couldn’t imagine not fining Microsoft for its failure to comply with sanctions stemming from a 2004 antitrust ruling.
