E.C. To Deliver Decision On Microsoft Fines Wednesday

Law360, New York (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. will learn if European antitrust regulators plan to levy yet another massive fine against it Wednesday when the European Commission hands down an official decision on whether or not the company should be hit with new fines that could total hundreds of millions of euros.

At issue is the Redmond, Wash.-based software giant’s perceived noncompliance with technical disclosure requirements that came as part of a landmark 2004 ruling in which European antitrust authorities fined Microsoft €497 million for abusing its dominant market position....
