Court Denies Infineon Request for Stay of Rambus Patent Trial

Law360, New York (January 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- The retrial of Rambus Inc.'s patent infringement lawsuit against Infineon Technologies AG will begin in May as scheduled, but the court reduced the number of patent claims that Rambus could bring against Infineon.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ruled Thursday that memory-chip designer Rambus could continue with its lawsuit in a courtroom hearing, scheduled to begin May 10. Infineon has sought a stay of up to two years.
