University, Nektar Settle Patent Feud For $25M

Law360 (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ending a dispute over biotech patents worth millions of dollars, the University of Alabama reached a $25 million settlement this week with biotechnology company Nektar Therapeutics in a case that highlighted the importance of clear rules concerning who owns academic inventions.
