Aircraft Manufacturers Win Wrongful Death Suit

Law360, New York (October 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Alabama judge has dismissed a lawsuit against two airplane engine manufacturers alleging that a faulty jet engine fuel pump caused a crash that fatally injured a man.

John O. Swanstrom filed the lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Mobile County of Alabama in December 2004, saying Teledyne Continental Motors Inc., a jet engines part producer, Cirrus Industries Inc., the manufacturer of the aircraft, and their related subsidiaries were liable for the death of John E. Swanstrom Jr., who suffered fatal injuries in Cirrus SR20 aircraft...
