Tenet Settles One Year After Katrina

Law360, New York (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Marking one of the first major insurance settlements in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Tenet Healthcare Corporation announced it has settled its claims over damages and business lost as a result of the storm.

The health care chain received $340 million for damage from the 2005 storm.

Tenet, headquartered in Dallas, Tex., owned six hospitals in the storm’s path, five in or near New Orleans and one in Biloxi, Miss. All received massive storm damage and two have yet to reopen, the hospital chain said....
