EDF Plans To Sue EPA Over Landfill Methane Limits

Law360, New York (October 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Environmental Defense Fund plans to sue the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for allegedly failing to update its emissions standards for methane and other air pollutants from landfills, saying the regulator has neglected its statutory duty to review those limits every eight years.

EDF gave its notice of intent to sue in a letter dated Thursday, following EPA's August response to the group's Freedom of Information Act request for materials related to a review of the landfill methane standards.
