St. Jude Wields Patents Against Device Maker

Law360, New York (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medical technology giant St. Jude Medical Inc. has hit Access Closure Inc. with a suit alleging the defendant’s vascular closure device infringes several St. Jude patents.

The complaint, lodged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, claims a vascular closure device made by Access Closure falls within the scope of five patents St. Jude holds related to plugs used to close incisions from vascular surgeries.
