Kan. Sues Slew Of Drugmakers Over AWPs

Law360, New York (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The attorney general of Kansas has sued 13 drug companies for allegedly defrauding the state's Medicaid program by reporting inflated average wholesale drug prices.

The lawsuit, filed in the Wyandotte County District Court on Friday, targets Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.; Abbott Labs; TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., formed as a joint venture of Takeda and Abbott; Wyeth; Schering Plough; Purdue Pharma LLP; Mylan Labs; Forest Labs; Boehringer; GlaxoSmithKline; Johnson & Johnson; Alza Corp.; Janssen Pharmaceutica Products LP; Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Inc., along with its predecessors McNeil-PPC Inc. and...
