EU Pesticides May Harm Brain Development: Report

Law360, New York (October 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Many pesticides commonly used in Europe may be harmful to brain development in humans, according to a journal article published last week.

In an article published Wednesday in Environmental Health, three professors at the University of Southern Denmark, Marina Bjorling-Poulsen, Helle Raun Andersen and Philippe Grandjean, said that reviewing available evidence on exposure to pesticides, especially during brain development, indicates that the chemicals could be toxic to developing human brains.
