Whole Foods Calls FTC Rules 'Unfair' And 'Radical'

Law360, New York (October 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission's proposal to shorten the time limit on adjudicative procedures and allow commissioners to preside over prehearing issues would radically and unfairly skew the litigation against defendants, Whole Foods Market Inc. charged Monday.

Whole Foods, which is still fighting an FTC administrative proceeding over its consummated merger with Wild Oats Markets Inc., also urged the agency to lengthen the 30-day public comment period it set in late September for its proposed regulation.
