EU Deadline Passes Without Answer From Intel

Law360, New York (October 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Intel Corp. has missed the deadline to respond to charges by the European Union's antitrust watchdog that it engaged in anti-competitive behavior to muscle a rival out of the computer chip business.

European Commission spokesman on competition Jonathan Todd said Monday the microprocessor had failed to reply by the Oct. 17 deadline.

"I can confirm that the commission has not received a reply from Intel to the supplementary statement of objections sent on July 17," Todd said.
