Dentons Wins Overhaul Of Ill. Prison Mental Health System

By Aebra Coe (January 8, 2016, 2:37 PM EST) -- Illinois' 11,000 mentally ill prisoners now have access to constitutionally adequate medical care thanks to an extensive settlement reached as a result of seven years of investigating, litigating and negotiating by a Dentons pro bono team.

Dentons represented a class of all mentally ill prisoners in Illinois in an action against the state and its Department of Corrections alleging the system treated them inhumanely, violating the U.S. Constitution and Americans with Disabilities Act.
