HP Forms IP Licensing Unit

Law360, New York (January 12, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. formed an intellectual property licensing organization to capitalize on its growing patent portfolio, the California-based technology giant said Monday.

HP’s intellectual property has been moved into a separate, wholly owned holding company, which will be managed by the IP licensing organization. Financial benefit from licensing revenue will flow back to the business organizations that created the IP, the company said.
