PTAB Rejects 6 Symantec Bids For AIA Cyber Patent Reviews

Law360, New York (January 15, 2016, 5:33 PM EST) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board on Thursday nixed six Symantec Corp. requests for America Invents Act reviews of five computer security patents held by cybersecurity firm Finjan Inc., saying in each case that Symantec failed to show it was likely to prove any of the challenged claims were invalid.

In six separate decisions, a three-judge panel denied Symantec’s requests for inter partes reviews of five patents that Finjan had asserted against it as part of a suit it brought in California federal court in 2014.
